In 2001, after hearing about the barriers preventing women from being involved in their communities, Wendy Steele posed a question. What would happen if 100 women joined forces for the good of their communities?
The model was simple: 100 women would each bring $1,000 to the table, and decide collectively where to donate the $100,000. By October the following year, 123 women gave an unequivocal answer: when women join forces, transformation happens.
Since then, Impact100 has empowered women to transform their communities and themselves. To date, 52 chapters around the globe have given away more than $67 million to nonprofits. And we’re just getting started.
We are at a crucial turning point for Impact100. There are now more communities eager to launch an Impact100 chapter than all of the current chapters combined. The abundance of interest means Impact100 can grow exponentially in the coming years. We not only have the potential— we have the plan. Our team has been strategizing with current Impact100 chapters and experts to build a rollout plan for sustainable, scalable growth.
We are taking Impact100 to the next level, and we need your help to get there. We are looking for 100 donors to give at least $10,000 to redefine the possibilities for Impact100. We are humbled and grateful for your support. Together, we can ensure Impact100 grows into the premier women-led philanthropy movement that will empower women and transform communities for generations to come.
Every Impact100 chapter is led by a strong, talented, and diverse board of volunteers. These committed women work hard to execute the Impact100 model effectively in their communities. They need additional support and more robust resources.
With your help, we will provide the solutions Impact100 needs to grow our reach. Here are some tangible steps we will take:
Develop an Impact100 proprietary grants platform for all chapters.
Create quality, easily-maintained, custom Impact100 websites for each chapter.
Offer regional leadership development events in years without a global conference.
Launch an onboarding system to train and guide Impact100 leaders starting a new chapter or growing an existing one.
Release a searchable online forum to provide peer support and expert solutions in real-time.
Hold webinars andpodcasts covering best practices and guidance for each aspect of the Impact100 process.
Proactively coach and prepare leaders for success in every stage of growth.
Grow media outreach (both local & national) to shine a light on the important work of chapters and the Impact100 movement.
Nurture and encourage potential communities to launch a new Impact100 chapter.
